Dr. Yazeed’s Speech Description and Topic:
Waiting to Exhale: When Women of Color Can’t Be Vulnerable in the Workplace
Workshop Format
Every morning, women of color suit up in their protective emotional armor in preparation to dodge the barrage of negative assumptions the day will inevitably bring. What will she be labeled today – angry, aggressive, or problematic? When we talk about inequality as it relates to women of color, the conversation is often limited to discussions of unequal pay and the lack of financial resources. Has anyone stopped and considered that inequality also extends to the unfair treatment of minority women in the workplace? Dr. Yazeed will share the emotional barriers women of color often face in the workplace, how leaders can support the professional growth of minority women, and what they can do to begin to thrive.
We can also work together to create a workshop/presentation that caters to your audience.
Available for Leadership Conferences, Women Retreats, Business Summits, Employee Resource Groups, College Organizations, and Professional Development Trainings
